About Conestoga Girls Ice Hockey

TEAMWORK. FUN. EXERCISE. ALL LEVELS WELCOME.

Founded in 2004, the Conestoga Girls Ice Hockey Club empowers girls in grades 8–12 to grow both in and through the sport of hockey. With support from the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District and the generosity of Ice Line, the program was launched by Paula Jorgensen to introduce ice hockey to girls at Conestoga—regardless of their skating experience. From day one, the team has welcomed new players each season, teaching them not just how to skate—but how to fall and get back up.

We are proud to be a varsity-level sport that embraces players of all experience levels, from total beginners to advanced skaters. Our mission is to build a program where girls can develop hockey skills, grow in confidence, support one another, and learn what it means to compete as part of a team. Our culture is rooted in teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and fun.

The club competes in the Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League (ICSHL) at the varsity level and offers a JV program to provide even more opportunities for players to contribute and grow through competitive play.

We aim to strike a balance each season between competing to win and developing players. All players are included in team practices and off-ice activities, and while game rosters are limited to 20 players, we rotate newer skaters to ensure meaningful involvement for all.

Last season, we qualified for the Flyers Cup Tournament for the second year in a row (2024 and 2025)—a reflection of our team’s growth, hard work, and competitive spirit. At the same time, we remain proud of our commitment to development. We often have brand-new players on our roster each season, and we’re intentional about creating space for learning, progress, and participation—no matter a player’s starting point.

COSTS

Player costs are based on a shared portion of the team’s total seasonal expenses.

Our coaches are all volunteers, so the majority of team fees go directly toward ice time. We have a long season (September through March), with approximately 50–60 ice slots each year, including practices and games.

A deposit is due at registration, and once the full roster is confirmed, we calculate the final cost per player and send out remaining balances. If you have any questions about cost, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to talk through the details.

In addition to team fees, there is a separate investment in uniforms and personal equipment.
Goalie gear is more specialized and costly, but goalies receive a significantly discounted membership fee in recognition of that added expense.

Financial Support Resources:

Every Kid Sports:  A national non-profit providing financial support for sports registration fees to kids from income-restricted families

Level The Playing Field: With a location in Delco, LPF redistributes sports equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs
